English: Do any of you remember the Mickey Mouse cartoons of the 30's? Those who just put on DVD a few years ago? Well, I heard that there is a caricature that was never distributed, not even to Disney's most passionate fans.

According to most sources, this caricature has nothing special about it. It is simply a continuous loop of Mickey walking through 6 buildings, for about 2 or 3 minutes before darkening and ending with the animation (more or less as in Los Pica piedras). Unlike the usual happy music, the song of this caricature was not a song at all. It was just as if they hit a piano a minute and a half before it became white noise, snow, for the rest of the film.

And this was not the cheerful old Mickey that we loved either, Mickey was not dancing, not even smiling. Just walking, as if you or I were walking, with a normal facial expression, but for some reason, his face was turned to the left, as if having a somber look.

Until a year or two ago, everyone believed that after the scene was obscured, the cartoon ended. But when Leonard Maltin was checking it out to put it as a bonus on the DVD, he decided that this was just rubbish. However, I wanted to have a digital copy for the simple fact of being a work of Walt. When he digitalized the cartoon on his computer, he realized something: the cartoon lasted 9 minutes and 4 seconds. This is what my source told me by email (he is a personal assistant to one of the most senior executives at Disney and is known to Mr. Maltin himself).

After vanishing in black, it stays that way until the sixth minute; Then he returns to Mickey walking. The sound was different this time. It was like a murmur. It was not a language, but rather like a guttural scream. While the noise becomes more indistinguishable and strong in the next minute, the image begins to decompose. The stool starts going in directions that seem impossible based on Mickey's walk. The grim face of the mouse slowly turns into a grim smile.

At minute seven, the murmurs become chilling screams (those that hurt only when you hear them) and the image gets darker, with colors that were not possible at that time. Mickey's face, then, was beginning to collapse. His eyes rolled to the bottom of his chin, like two marbles in a fishbowl, and his strange smile was pointing up, to the left side of his face.

The buildings turned to rubble floating in the air, and the sidewalk continued in impossible directions, navigating in strange directions. Mr. Maltin was disturbed and left the room, sending an employee to finish watching the video and take notes of everything that happened until the last second, and then save the caricature disk in the safe. It turns out that at the end of the video, after a guttural scream, the film ends abruptly with Mickey's face in the credits with what appeared to be a broken musical box playing in the background.

This happens for about 30 seconds, and whatever happens in that time, nobody has been able to give me a bit of information. A security guard, who worked with me, told me that he was making his rounds that night outside the room and saw the employee shaking out of the room saying: "The real suffering has not been known", seven times before he took away the He armed the guard and committed suicide.

The only thing I could get out of Leonard Martin was a phrase from the last pictures, a sentence in Russian that read: "The sights of hell will bring your audience back." De acuerdo a la mayoría de las fuentes, esta caricatura no tiene nada de especial. Simplemente es un loop continuo de Mickey caminando a través de 6 edificios, por unos 2 o 3 minutos antes de obscurecerse y terminar con la animación (más o menos como en Los Pica piedras). A diferencia de las musicas alegres de siempre, la canción de esta caricatura no era una canción para nada. Simplemente era como si golpearan un piano por minuto y medio antes de que se convirtiera en ruido blanco, nieve, por el resto del film.

Y este no era el alegre y viejo Mickey que amábamos tampoco, Mickey no estaba bailando, ni siquiera sonriendo. Simplemente caminando, como si tú o yo estuviéramos caminando, con una expresión facial normal, pero por alguna razón, su cara estaba girada hacia la izquierda, como teniendo una mirada sombría.

Hasta hace uno o dos años todos creían que después de que se obscurecía la escena, terminaba la caricatura. Pero cuando Leonard Maltin la estaba revisando para ponerla como un bonus en el DVD, decidió que esto era simplemente basura. Sin embargo, quería tener una copia digital por el simple hecho de ser una obra de Walt. Cuando digitalizó la caricatura en su computadora, se dio cuenta de algo: la caricatura duraba 9 minutos y 4 segundos. La banqueta empieza a ir en direcciones que parecen imposibles basándonos en el caminado de Mickey. La sombría cara del ratón, lentamente se convierte en una sombría sonrisa.                      

En el minuto siete, los murmullos se convierten en gritos escalofriantes (de esos que te duelen solo al escucharlos) y la imagen se pone más obscura, con colores que no eran posibles en esa época. La cara de Mickey, entonces, comenzaba a derrumbarse. Sus ojos rodaban hacia el fondo de su barbilla, como dos canicas en una pecera, y su extraña sonrisa apuntaba hacia arriba, al lado izquierdo de su cara.                      

Los edificios se convertían en escombros flotando en el aire, y la acera seguía en direcciones imposibles, navegando en direcciones extrañas. El Sr. Maltin quedó perturbado y dejó la habitación, enviando a un empleado para que terminara de ver el vídeo y tomara notas de todo lo que pasaba hasta el último segundo, y para que después guardara el disco de la caricatura en la caja fuerte. Resulta que al final del vídeo, después de un grito gutural, el filme termina de manera abrupta con la cara de Mickey en los créditos con lo que parecía ser una caja musical rota tocando en el fondo.                      

Esto pasa por más o menos unos 30 segundos, y sea lo que sea que pase en ese tiempo, nadie ha podido darme ni un poco de información. Un guardia de seguridad, que trabajaba conmigo, me dijo que estaba haciendo su ronda esa noche fuera de la habitación y vio al empleado salir temblando del cuarto diciendo: “El sufrimiento real no se ha conocido”, siete veces antes de que le quitara el arma al guardia y cometiera suicido.

Lo único que le pude sacar a Leonard Martin fue una frase de los últimos cuadros, una frase en ruso que decía: “Las vistas del infierno traerán a su audiencia de regreso”. Hasta donde sé, nadie más la ha visto, pero ha habido docenas de intentos de poner el archivo en Rapidshare por los empleados del estudio, los cuales han sido despedidos por eso.
